Jeniferever - Choose A Bright Morning

Better known as the birthplace of flat pack furniture and indiscreet, oversexed football managers, Sweden isn't renowned as the most exciting of countries. While Jeniferever are unlikely to provide The Politest Place On Earth with an edgy punk-rock ethic, Sweden certainly has a new claim to fame in the Uppsala four-piece.

Their debut - released on worthy indie label and home to Martha Wainwright, Drowned In Sound - 'Choose A Bright Morning' is packed with glorious, swirling shoegaze(the breathy, driving rhythms of 'From Across The Sea') and chiming post-rock(the cryptically titled 'A Ghost In The Corner Of Your Eye'; the Lynchian atmospherics and everything-to-11 brilliance of 'Magdeleno').

More soaring epic than miseablist caterwauling, 'Choose A Bright Morning' is the Ikea bookcase of indie, yielding hidden layers of complexity but luckely, like Sven, isn't short of a screw.
