Jeniferever - Iris
Big Scary Monsters

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And God said, let there be Sweden: and there was Sweden. In Sweden, he sited porn stars, furniture designers and thrash; but after a couple of millennia, God became bored and sprung Jeniferever forth from his relentless loins. After the success of their split EP with The Next Autumn Soundtrack, Iris was the next logical step for a band of this calibre. An extra depth has been added with the introduction of an array of new musical styles, from slide guitar, to the moderate usage of an e-bow and even a jazzy trumpet.

With the 4 tracks clocking in at just less than 40 minutes, it will be no surprise to hear that this isn’t a mini-album of short, sharp, pop-punk chart-toppers. Each track has clearly been meticulously planned to the finest detail, with everything finally merging to form four individual atmospheric anthems with soaring melodies, steady rhythms and almost pious vocals. Now all you have to do is prepare yourself for a sudden surge of post-rock bands that claim to have been in existence since time began. Recommended for fans of Mogwai, Explosions In The Sky and their general ilk.
